Le nuove Sony A7 e A7R sono la notizia del momento, che sta facendo ribollire tutti i blog fotografici del pianeta. FULL-FRAME mirrorless da 24MP o 36MP, corpo compatto, attacco E-mount che con il suo tiraggio ridotto permette (con adattatore) di montare praticamente qualsiasi ottica vintage, da Leica M a Zeiss G e qualità di immagine che promette di competere con le Nikon D800. Per chi, come me, ha un discreto corredo ottiche Minolta – Sony sono una grandiosa notizia.

Ma quanto compatte sono? Dopo oltre tre anni che mi porto appresso ovunque la mia NEX5, che sta comodamente nel palmo della mano, per me ora la dimensione compatta è imprescindibile. Nei negozi non sono ancora arrivate, quindi bisogna lavorare di immaginazione. Un confronto virtuale (con altre digitali) può essere fatto su www.camerasize.com , ma non è la stessa cosa di provare a maneggiare qualcosa. Oggi avevo un po’ di tempo e ho tirato fuori dai vari armadietti tutti i corpi macchina che ho in casa, per cercare di capire a cosa più si potessero avvicinare le nuove Sony A7 – A7R. Dopo un po’ di misure li ho fotografati e con Photoshop li ho affiancati (in scala) alla nuova A7. Ebbene, il corpo che più si avvicina per dimensioni e stile alle A7 – A7R è la gloriosa Minolta 7000! La 7000 misura (LxHxP) 144.5 x 92.5 x 60.6 mm, la A7 arriva a 126.9 x 94.4 x  48.2 mm. Nelle immagini sotto i due corpi macchina a confronto. Non penso che la somiglianza sia un caso, la 7000 è considerata la macchina che ha rivoluzionato il mondo reflex negli anni ’80 (introducendo per prima l’Autofocus). Immagino che i designer Sony abbiano voluto sottoindendere qualcosa… vedremo.

But how compact are them? After more than three year that I brought with me the NEX5 everywhere , that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, the compact size for me is essential. In the shops A7-A7R are not arrived yet , so you have to work with imagination. A virtual comparison can be done on www.camerasize.com , but it is not the same thing as trying to hand something. Today I had some time and I put on a table all the camera bodies I have at home , to try to understand what more feel like the new Sony A7 – A7R . After a bit  of measures I photographed and Photoshopped them side by side ( in scale) to the new A7 . Well, the body that is closest in size and style to the A7 – A7R is the glorious Minolta 7000 ! The 7000 measure (WxHxD) 144.5 x 92.5 x 60.6 mm , the A7 comes in 126.9 x 94.4 x 48.2 mm. In the images below the two camera bodies in comparison. I don’t think the similarity is a case, the 7000 is considered the camera that has revolutionized the world of SLR in the 80s ( the first to introduce the Auto Focus) . I guess the Sony designers wanted to tell something… we’ll see.
